NEW: HANDBOOK „DATA PROTECTION IN LUXEMBOURG“

In the second quarter of 2019, our handbook "Data Protection in Luxembourg" will be published by the Deutscher Fachverlag. The book offers a practical presentation of the special features of data protection law in Luxembourg and the way it interacts with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It will be presented on 22 May 2019 as part of a European Data Protection Congress, which the DURY Compliance & Consulting GmbH is organizing in cooperation with Vindler GmbH, the Wirtschafsdiplomaten Krohn & Partner and the Deutscher Fachverlag.
The objective is to familiarize data protection officers in companies or associations, consultants, executives and other IT controllers with data protection issues as well as problems related to the protection of data and to transmit them this knowledge in an understandable and compact manner. In doing so, the authors share their extensive experience as advisory service providers and external data protection officers, sensitizing the reader for potential risks and providing them pointers that facilitate the application and implementation of the data protection guidelines.
The work is suitable for both data protection-novice and advanced users. Starting with an explanation of the most important terms and actors of the GDPR, the handbook provides in the following answers to more specific questions on topics such as:
- The opening clauses of the GDPR in Luxembourg
- The modalities of cooperation with the supervisory authority in Luxembourg (National Commission for Data Protection, CNPD)
- The record of processing activities: what should be the structure of this record? Which substantive points should be considered?
- Data breach: What should be done in the event of a data breach?
- Processor: What should be considered when selecting service providers?
- Transfer of personal data in corporations and abroad
- Data protection in terms of apps, websites, onlineshops and other internet offers
Trilingual version and authorized translation of the Luxembourg Data Protection Act
The handbook, which also includes the text of the Luxembourg Data Protection Act, is available in three languages: French, English and German.
The publication contains for the first time an English and German translation of the Luxembourg legal text authorized by the supervisory authority in Luxembourg, the CNPD.
As an entrepreneur, you can be sure that using the translations will not cause any disadvantage as compared with applying the law in its original wording.
